I am about to buy a BMW R1300GS

I can get a 2024 for $6000 less than if I ordered a new 2026.
Are there any reasons to go with the 2026 over the 1st model year 2024?
Are there bugs in the 2024 that have been fixed etc...

Plus I can order the 2026 exactly the way I want it.
Are they even shipping the 2026 to the USA right now?
I live near Destin

Thank you for your help.

Two things to consider. First hat they call 2026 is for sure manufactured in 2025 . Look at the vin number
All i read regarding tarifs is that any bike passing the border after April 3 2025 will have a tariff impact
25% for motorcycles and after June 4 another tariff of 50% on any steel or aluminum component on the bike
ChatGPT says that some of the increase will be absorbed by BMW but i am not surprised by the 6k increase

What i would be careful is if the 2024 has the new suspension pump
My 2024 was from April and had the old one that is failing on all bikes. Just now (sep 2025) they are starting to have the tools, and replacement pumps) to address the issue.
I rode for 5 months with the error message and the bike on low suspension mode. Just two weeks ago they got the pump and replaced it
At the beggining they said is a software upgrade…. Did that and did not work. Then they said calibration for which they had to get some tools from Germany. Did not work. Finally they said is the pump and that was in backorder for 4 weeks
I wrote to BMW and said i was considering placing a Lemon law complain with Texas vehicle department.
Next day i got a call that my pump replacement would be ready next day in my dealership.
So….. if you have the new pump and will be using the bike for many years, i would go with the 2024 and spend the 6 k on gizmos 🙂
